Socio-Economic and Cultural Implications of Marine Turtles Use and Conservation

The following paper was prepared by the Secretariat in response to a need initially identified by the IOSEA Western Indian Ocean - Marine Turtle Task Force to compile information, in the form of a literature review, on social aspects of marine turtle conservation in the Western Indian Ocean.  The Secretariat circulated a working draft of the paper in February 2014, which has since been updated to incorporate feedback from a small number of reviewers.
